Current Activities and Projects
Douglas Akers is the Associate Manager, Contracts and Contracting Officer for the Energy Science and Technology Directorate and the Computational and Information Sciences Directorate. He has more than 27 years of professional management and leadership experience that incorporates skills in sales and acquisition contracting, materials management, procedures and systems planning, personnel management, and customer services. He and his staff award and manage over 25 million dollars in procurements and directed research projects/contracts.
Past Experience
Mr. Akers has negotiated Cost Reimbursement, Labor Hour, and Fixed Price Contracts (using Government or Corporate Terms and Conditions). He also negotiates Non-disclosure Agreements as well as Intellectual Property rights for new scientific discoveries. Mr. Akers has developed quality control standards and methods of monitoring as well as developed needs forecasts and projections for customer services. He is accomplished in both Sales and Acquisition Contracting for both goods and services.
